International Non-GMO Summit 2026: A Key Moment for Europe’s Food and Feed Sector

News

Now that the votes on final legislation process for New Genomic Techniques (NGTs or New GMOs) are pending in the European Parliament and the Council, the Non-GMO food and feed sectors are preparing for a period of change. The International Non-GMO Summit 2026 will offer stakeholders guidance, at a moment when clarity is most needed. Registration will open in January 2026.

The Summit will take place on 13th May 2026, in Frankfurt, Germany and is co-organised by ENGA, VLOG, ARGE Gentechnik-frei, Donau Soja and The ProTerra Foundation. Set against the backdrop of a likely deregulation of New GMOs, the Summit will equip businesses across the value chain with practical knowledge to secure Non-GMO production, ensure traceability, and maintain consumer trust. Participants will benefit from an intensive one-day programme that brings together leading scientific, regulatory, and industry experts to address the most pressing questions facing operators today.

The morning sessions will examine the evolving legal and market landscape for New GMOs, outlining the EU’s legislative state of play, why New GMOs are not equivalent to conventional breeding, and the findings of the 2026 New GMOs Market Report. Building on this, speakers will also address how operators can exclude New GMOs from Non-GMO value chains by adapting existing standards, strengthening supplier agreements to maintain traceability, and applying the latest detection technologies; tools that will be essential for supporting Non-GMO supply chains under the new conditions.

In the afternoon, a practitioner-focused panel discussion will examine how operators across Europe expect to implement the new requirements in practice. The Summit will also hear from experts on the global Non-GMO market more widely, examining global supply and demand for Non-GMO crops and highlighting the latest trends in the market.

With legislative changes imminent, the 2026 International Non-GMO Summit will be an essential forum for businesses seeking clarity and practical solutions, including assessing the future potential for Non-GMO labelling.

Registrations open in January 2026. Keep a close eye on the Summit’s LinkedIn page for updates.
