Dear readers, After 2022’s harvest, more than 1 million tonnes of Donau Soja / Europe Soya-certified non-GM soybeans, all of them deforestation- and conversion-free, have been produced and certified in Europe. This is about a third of all Non-GMO soy needed in the EU. Our article Non-GM soybeans – growing from strength to strength in Europe explains how Donau Soja’s Protein Partnerships Programme is developing the potential for soybean cultivation in non-EU, European countries - including Ukraine - even further. Meanwhile, the agenda for the International Non-GMO Summit is filling up with confirmed speakers. And we’re delighted to welcome Instituto Soja Livre from Brazil as a partner! Please note that the Summit is a physical event and it’s necessary to reserve your ticket directly on the website: https://www.nongmosummit.com/register-now In the EU, the Commission has announced that it will publish its legislative proposal for a deregulation of New GMOs around the 7th June. The reasons why the food sector has a lot to lose and why it should raise its voice for its business interests I explained in an opinion piece for New Food Magazine. Please support us by distributing this newsletter within your network. To regularly receive our newsletter, and get all the latest updates on Non-GMO in Europe, subscribe. Also keep in touch with ENGA by following us on LinkedIn and Twitter. Please feel free to inform your partners and networks about the work and goals of ENGA, and to increase our strength on the European market and towards the European regulatory bodies by having as many business platforms and companies as possible join our cause Membership Benefits. Kind regards, Heike Moldenhauer Secretary General
